Girl's Recreation Softball
Girl's Recreation Softball is offered to Ringwood & Wanaque girls ages 7 - 14. Our Recreation Softball program gives each player the chance to learn the fundamentals of the sport through weekly practices and games under the supervision of our volunteer coaches. Timing, hand-eye coordination, as well as valuable personal characteristics are built through the encouragement of teamwork and sportsmanship while remembering to always have fun!
Teams will be formed into the following age groups: Age as of January 1st:
- Rookies (Age 7 - 8 || 1st & 2nd grades)
- Minors (Age 9 - 10)
- Majors (Age 11 - 12)
- Juniors (Age 13 – 14)
We are always looking for the help of volunteer coaches to help make this program as successful as possible. If you are planning on donating your time as a coach, you must attend the Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Coaches Clinic. The class held in Ringwood is free for Ringwood residents. Please contact the office for dates, times, and locations. If you cannot attend the Ringwood class, please find another location to attend the neccessary training. You must also complete the 20-30 minute Heads Up Concussion course online. You will need to provide the recreation department with a copy of the Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y certification card and confirmation of completing the Concussion Course prior to coaching.
